My 70s Gigs

This is a list of the gigs I attended in the 70s or, rather, the ones I can remember attending! Accordingly, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the dates.

1973. Deep Purple, The Free Trade Hall, Manchester.

1973. Wings, The Hard Rock, Manchester.

Nothing to do with the chain of burger restaurants, the Hard Rock was a short-lived music venue in Stretford. According to a recent piece in United We Stand the site is now occupied by a B&Q superstore. As I recall, this was Macca in 'disown the Fabs' mode which meant that we weren't treated to a single Beatles song. Moreover, it was pre-Band on the Run so tuneful ditties were at a premium; good to see a Beatle in the flesh, though.

Drove down from Manchester in CS's car. The only time I've seen Bowie. Good concert. The Stage album resulted from this tour.
