Road to kindergarten
Welcome to Kindergarten!
The next couple of months will be filled with excitement, new beginnings, new faces and lots of questions. In an effort to prepare you and your child for that first day of school, the George Mitchell School Parent Association (GMSPA) offers the Road to Kindergarten (RTK). Through this program, we strive to provide engaging and educational opportunities for meeting, greeting, and knowledge sharing. There will be many opportunities to meet classmates, parents, and Kindergarten teachers in the months leading up to the first day of school. From the 4th of July parade for the kids, to a playground day for the family, or a fun filled art and music day with the amazing George Mitchell teachers, RTK provides fun for everyone. Activities are completely voluntary and you may participate in just one or all of them.
The transition to Kindergarten is an important time in a child's life and research shows that it influences a child's school career for many years to come. It is our goal to assist your family with a positive start by connecting you in fun and supportive ways with other families getting ready for Kindergarten. We hope to accomplish this with a sense of community while addressing any questions or concerns you may have.
Continue to check our website and your email for updates throughout the summer. We are excited to continue to grow our program and make improvements, and we look forward to hearing your feedback throughout the summer. Please make sure to fill out the survey found on the next page. All incoming kindergarten parents and guardians will be able to join the GMSPA Facebook page on June 25, 2024. Please be patient when requesting to join the GMSPA Facebook page; it may take up to 24 hours or more to get approval.
On behalf of the RTK committee and GMSPA, we welcome you and your kindergartner to the George Mitchell Elementary School Family.
Warmest Regards,
GMSPA ROAD TO KINDERGARTEN COMITTEE
