Parade Square:
The presentation of RMC cap badges to every first-year Cadet on parade will be made by members of the Old Brigade, Alumni, College Staff, and invited dignitaries. This gesture will signify the admittance of the Class of 2029 into the Cadet Wing of RMC.
Dress for Old Brigade members: Old Brigade beret, blazer with OB badge, OB tie, and flannels – with medals. While less preferred, dark suit and tie is acceptable. Badge presenters from the Old Brigade will be mainly drawn from the Class of 80 and smaller numbers from other years (20 OB presenters in total). This is a College event and coordinating instructions will be given in early September by the Training staff.
The RMC Alumni Association will be offering a free coffee service including cookies and muffins prior to the Badging Ceremony. The Coffee Service will be set up in front of Nikki and Brucie Statues from 0830hrs – 0915hrs.

Parade Square and Arch:
On completion of the Badging Parade, OB and Alumni classes are asked to gather in front of the Stone Frigate where pre-selected Squadron Leaders and Markers will be briefed.
Pete Avis, OB Adjutant, will liaise with Squadron Leaders and Markers prior to Reunion Weekend to discuss how classes will form squadrons and form up on the Parade Square. Once formed and dressed, the parade will be turned over to the Parade Commander and we all make our way to the Memorial Arch for a formal ceremony.
Dress for Old Brigade members: Old Brigade beret, blazer with OB badge, OB tie, and flannels – with medals. While less preferred, dark suit and tie is acceptable. A flask of water is highly recommended during this event to ensure hydration. If it is hot, this is a challenging event. There will be chairs and shaded areas and water at the Arch for anyone who has a need (and for partners / guests).
Be aware that the following services and supports to our OB and Ex-Cadet Alumni participants will be in place: well-organized car parking; portable toilets positioned in useful places (near Parade Square and Memorial Arch); a shuttle bus to assist those who need it; lockers and change facilities are available in the SAM complex Gym; two respite stations available with water for hydration; and trained first aid teams for each major event.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th, 18:00 for 19:00
The Old Brigade Dinner will be the official welcoming of two classes into the Old Brigade.
Classes: 1980 and 1975 (Covid catch-up)), a roll call, and a few toasts, but the main aim is to maximize fun and talk-time at the tables, and to encourage circulation among tables and between classes after dinner.
The Class of 80 will provide their youngest class member for the Loyal Toast and the piper for their class as well as a possible small pipe and drum contingent for later entertainment. There will be a photographer for lots of photos in the first hours.
It’s a time to dress up if you like – black tie and medals or Military Mess Dress (No. 2 or 2A) with medals for Old Brigade members, with spouses and partners invited to dress accordingly – but we recognize how difficult it is to carry that kit for long distances, so College blazer or dark suit with Old Brigade tie and medals are fully acceptable and welcome alternatives.
It will be grand evening with a bit of prompt and circumstance, great food and a relaxing atmosphere in which you can catch up with old friends.
