River Oaks Neighborhood Association Board Meeting

7:00pm @ Premier Pizza, River Oaks

Present: Jean, Mike

Agenda items:

• Our April meeting was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The May meeting was rescheduled 1 week later.

• Mike went to the Planning Board meeting yesterday morning to speak at the hearing for the 405 ROP Development Permit.

  • He spoke on three issues:

    • The height differential problem along the border

    • The noise problem we've been having with early morning staging for 3300 Zanker work

    • The lack of progress on implementing the NSJ Neighborhood plan.

    • The board was nice enough to give me an extra minute to speak on the last issue.

  • As might be expected, nothing really came of it and the permit was approved. Irvine did say that our recent complaints about noise had gotten a lot of upper management level attention. I do expect to see some results this time.

  • I also followed up with Irvine/HMH on the perceived height differences between the 405 ROP site and the Essex site. I hope to get an explanation why the current Essex plans we got show 66% 4 story and 33% 5 story ... and why we can't get something similar at 405 ROP. I'm going to stay on the height issue as much as I can.
