These are some of the cases I have cracked;

Discovering the birth mother of an adopted Grandad. There were a number of women of the birth mother’s name born within a believable timeframe; using the DNA Cousins I was able to confirm the right mother.

A child born in Wartime, while his “father” was a prisoner of the Japanese; my client told me what he knew of the circumstances of his birth, and his mother’s affair, and, using his DNA results, I was able to narrow down his birth father to be one of two brothers from a local family.

So happy to have discovered the true identity of my client’s ancestor, Philip B, who evaded the 1911 census, and appeared from nowhere circa 1915. He assumed the surname of his “wife”, with whom he had a large family. He gave accurate birth details on the 1921 census, but under his assumed name, which failed to pan out with any birth record nor earlier censuses. Looking at the DNA, there was a cluster of Cousins on that side of the family who had no connection to his “wife’s” family, so must be the connection to Philip B. Many of these Cousins all traced back to one family in Gloucestershire. Tracing forward on all branches of this family, it was time to celebrate when I finally found a Philip R of exactly the right age and birthplace, and who disappeared from the records under that name sometime after the 1901 census. All evidence suggests that Philip B and Philip R were one and the same…...the DNA holds the answer!
