ND EPSCoR NATURE program '18 (Nurturing American Tribal Undergraduate Research and Education)

I was a faculty mentor to 2 students who chose to explore river and stream dynamics by experimenting with our lab's stream table for a week. They came up with three of their own hypotheses, tested them, and learned about stream velocity, erosion, and base level relationships. They also learned about taking notes and recording data in a lab/field setting. Then they created their own ppt presentation to explain to their group what was learned (June 11-14, 2018).

GirlsTech ('17) (a SWE function coordinated by Mojdeh Mardani) and NDSEF (North Dakota Science and Engineering Fair) regional finalists visit to UND

I ran the stream table, and with help from Kelsey, Ogochukwu, and Chioma, set up a watershed contamination model and groundwater model; and talked to 15 eighth-grade girls selected for their interest in science and engineering and 17 budding scientists and engineers (March 7, 2017 and March 30, 2017 respectively).

CEM Summer Camp ('16): Young Scientists and Engineers Academy (YSEA)

I ran the Stream Table in the UND Geomorphology Lab on July 26 for 5th through 8th graders to learn about rivers and flooding (July 26, 2016).
