New grant from NSF awarded to Yu's lab:
Sept. 25, 2021: A new MRI grant from NSF has been awarded to Yu's lab to establish a THg and MeHg speciation and analysis system from Sept. 2021 to Aug. 2024.
Recruiting one new MS graduate student in Yu's lab:
Oct. 22, 2024: Yu's lab is recruiting one master graduate student. The student will work on microbial Hg methylation genes, methanogenesis genes, human microbes, or other microbial genomics or bioinformatics studies. The student will be supported by the department TA fellowship and research grant. Please contact Dr. Yu at ryu@uttyler.edu for further information.
The NSF REU summer research program “ Genome Science and Computational Biology" at Sam Houston State University has accepted Kyren Miller to study microbial genomics study in this summer. He will spend one month at SHSU to learn bacterial genomic analyses and computational biology.

Congratulations to Priyal for her presentation receiving the 1st place award at the Spring 2018 ASM Texas Branch Meeting held in New Braunfels, TX! Her poster presentation topic was the genomic and physiological characterization of Sphingobium yanoikuyae JS1018 in plant stilbenoid allelopathy.
