Still Under Construction....... Updated 12th January 2024
I started making a 3-axis plotter a few years ago, then made a spindle from a 540 buggy motor and battery pack and finally replaced that with a 850watt router.
The CNC machine uses an Arduino with a CNC shield V3.0 shield on top. Three Nema17 stepper motors are controlled by A4988 drivers and run on 24 volts. The Arduino has GRBL installed and Universal G-code Sender talks to it from the PC over a USB cable.
Sadly I didn't start making videos right at the start but all of the upgrades and projects are on this website.
I've just finished working on a second motor on the X-axis to remove some play in the gantry. I'm working on a video for engraving and drilling through hole PCBs. Also I have just stared making a Digital Clock from modular PCBs. I'm also swapping the X-axis liner rails to supported rails which will make it possible to fit thicker material under the Z-axis.
Have a look at the Links page to see all the software I've been using for these projects.
Best place to start looking is on the Projects page.
Or have a look at my You-tube channel
I'm filling this web site as and when I get time, have a look at gallery and projects to see what I'm up to and to find some You-tube videos.
*** SAFETY FIRST ***
Using CNC machines can be dangerous so always useĀ eye protection, ear protection or dust masks when necessary. Keep CNC machines away from children and rabbits.
