Uniform Rule: The uniform rule will be strictly enforced. The uniform must be worn as the manufacturer intended. Uniforms must not be tied or
knotted. Relays must wear uniforms clearly indicating, through predominant color, school logo and color combination of all outer
garments worn as a uniform, that members are from the same team. Additionally, removing any part of the uniform (excluding shoes) in the area of competition is illegal.
Fair Effort: All field event competitors must be checked in prior to the start of the event. If an athlete is not checked in, or has checked in but
has not made a full attempt to advance in the event when required, the athlete is disqualified from the rest of the meet. An athlete
may not elect to pass all trials in an event without being disqualified from the rest of the meet.
All running event competitors must be checked in prior to the start of the event. If an athlete is not checked in, or has checked in
but has not made a full attempt in the event when required, the athlete is disqualified from the rest of the meet. An athlete may
not elect to scratch in an event without being disqualified from the rest of the meet.
SAFETY: We ask that coaches and athletes not stand close to the netting that surrounds the weight throw. Coaches and athletes have
been seen with their back to the event watching the track unaware of the Weight Throw being contested. There needs to be
vigilance overall as the competition area of the facility is busy and close to events. This extends beyond Weight Throw as there are coaches and non-competing athletes in the Shot Put throwing area. Coaches and non-competing athletes should not be located
on the infield, instead out of the infield and across the oval. The jumps have seen its fair share of athletes and coaches crossing the runways or aprons during competition, seeing close contacts and collisions. Coaches helping at the event(s) alongside personnel at field events are vigilant, but the onus is on all of us to keep the sport as safe as possible.
Additionally, please remind parents and non-competing athletes that they are not allowed to be on the competition level. This also includes coaches who bring their own child(ren) to the competition level. This is a safety / liability issue, and we want to make sure that our coaches and athletes can have a space to compete without the added people on the competition level. We ask coaches to please help us in communicating this to their team.
