Important information for candidates for International office, 2021 – 2023, follows. This includes:

● requirements for submission of the Application for International Office,

● a blank Application for International Office, for personal use in preparing the application, which must be submitted online, a​nd

● eligibility requirements for​ International office, including Four-Year Members of the Executive Board, Two-Year Member of the Executive Board, International Vice President for Membership, and ​ InternationalVice-Presidents of the regions, e​lected by delegates at the International Convention. Note: A candidate is not permitted to change the office for which she has applied.

  • Requirements for submission:
  1. Deadline for application online submission is 11:59 P.M. CT, November 1, 2020.
  2. The official application form must be accessed on the Alpha Delta Kappa website and submitted online.
  3. Compose an essay (in essay form, no poems or acrostics) of no more than 100 words in answer to the

Eligibility Requirements for International Office

TWO-YEAR AND FOUR-YEAR MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD Constitution of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Incorporated ARTICLE IV, SECTION 3a.

a. A two-year member shall be eligible for election to a four-year term, provided at least one biennium has passed since she was a member of the International Executive Board.

FOUR-YEAR MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

Constitution of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Incorporated ARTICLE IV, SECTION 5

Section 5. A member elected to serve a four-year term by the delegates at International Convention shall possess the following qualifications:

  1. She shall have been an active member for at least twelve consecutive years from date of initiation and
  2. she shall be an active member at the time of her election.
  3. She shall have served at least one term on International Chapter.
  4. She shall be registered and attending the International Convention at which she is a candidate.

TWO-YEAR MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

Constitution of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Incorporated ARTICLE IV, SECTION 6

Section 6. A member elected to serve a two-year term by the delegates at International Convention shall possess the following qualifications:

  1. She shall have been an active member for at least twelve consecutive years from date of initiation, and
  2. she shall be an active member at the time of her election.
  3. She shall have completed a full term as a state/provincial/national president.
  4. She shall never have served as a member of International Chapter.
  5. She shall have attended at least three International Conventions and at least two Regional Conferences
  6. prior to her election.
  7. She shall be registered and attending the International Convention at which she is a candidate.

INTERNATIONAL OFFICER

Bylaws of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, ARTICLE VII, SECTION 1. a.

(1) A candidate for an International Office shall have been an active member for at least eight (8) consecutive years from the date of initiation or the date of her reinstatement to the date of election; shall be an active member at the time of her nomination; shall have within the last ten (10) years been in attendance at two​ (2) ​International conventions and two (2) regional conferences prior to her nomination; shall be registered and attending the Convention at which she is nominated.

  1. (2) A candidate eligible for the office of International President or International President-Elect shall have served a term as International Vice President of a region.
  2. (3) A candidate for International Office other than International President or International President-Elect shall have served a term as a chapter president and shall have completed a term as a state, provincial or national president. A two-year term served as a state, provincial or national chairman appointed by Headquarters​ ​to establish a state, provincial or national organization shall fulfill the requirement of a term as a state, provincial or national president.
  3. (4) A candidate for the office of International Vice President for Membership shall have served a term on the International Membership Committee as a Regional Membership Consultant. The International Vice Presidents of the Regions are eligible having served a term in their capacity as liaison with the International Membership Committee and with responsibilities as chief officers of the regions.
