About

A significant portion of the workshop "Musical Rhythm: Cross-Disciplinary and Multi-Cultural Perspectives" consists of discussions to be held either in break-out or plenary sessions. These discussions play a central role in the workshop's program. They present an opportunity for an in-depth exchange on current trends, existing methods and published results, as well as providing a space for the discussion of new ideas, the questioning of existing paradigms, the identification of gaps in the literature, and the formation of new collaborations. More than any other element in the program, the discussions can draw on the considerable amount of knowledge and expertise that will be present at the workshop to forge a path for future developments in the field of music rhythm research.

There are 4 and a half hours of break-out sessions, and 3 hours of plenary discussions allocated during the workshop's program, as well as four rooms available for these discussions to occur. Rather than pre-determining what these sessions should be all about, we have created this wiki to allow participants to propose ideas for discussion, gather momentum behind those proposals and ultimately define what these sessions should be all about.

Have an idea for discussion? please post it in our "Ideas" page, where you can also see and comment on what others are proposing.

Have any questions? please visit our FAQ page for basic guidelines on how to post, create new pages, formatting rules, etc. You can also contact us by emailing rhythm.nyuad@gmail.com.

Have fun!
