Welcome to Debate Club!
Richmond Hill High School Debate Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs of our school. RHHS Debate trains students to compete at tournaments around the world, where we have racked up awards and gained valuable life experiences. Most of all, we are a close-knit community that supports each other and has fun all the time. Unlike some other debate clubs, we don't require applications or tryouts, so everyone is welcome to join, regardless of whether you are interested in competing at tournaments!

- Join A Wonderful Community
From sleeping in bathtubs at Western to getting lint all over your suit on the bus, debate takes you to the wildest places that forge the strongest connections. Even if you're not competing, attending debate meetings and socials is a great way to make new friends and find people with similar interests! We're working really hard to make this year fun, with our Debate Coin cryptocurrency, fire merch like pins and sweaters, exec debates and more. Join the debate club community and say hi to our tabby cat mascot :D
- Learn About the World
Debating with others can expand your worldview and teach you about many new perspectives. Debating also pushes you to learn more about current events around the world, and learn about topics like international relations, law, feminism, and technology. Become a pro at speaking your truth by joining RHHS Debate.
- Attend Fire Tournaments
Debating competitively at tournaments are a great extracurricular and a way to show off the debating skills that you have honed. Meet new people, visit new places, debate new issues, learn more about yourself as a person. RHHS Debate hopes to host its annual in-house tournament, compete with other YRDSB schools, and attend many online tournaments.
