About the Rio Grande Valley Science Association of Texas (RGVSA)
The Rio Grande Valley Science Association of Texas (RGVSA) is a professional organization of science educators committed to advancing and enhancing science instruction in the Rio Grande Valley and across the state of Texas. With over 32 years of dedicated service to the community, RGVSA comprises PreK–12 educators, science specialists, university faculty, and members of the broader scientific community.
The RGVSA Board oversees the organization's core initiatives, which include organizing the annual science education conference, publishing a regular newsletter, supporting local science education events, and promoting science enrichment throughout the region.
For more than 30 years, RGVSA has proudly hosted an annual science education conference, which has grown to impact hundreds of educators each year. The conference features a keynote address from a distinguished science educator and offers a wide variety of workshops led by classroom teachers, university faculty, and other professionals in the field. Presenters share effective instructional strategies, classroom activities, and best practices in science teaching.
