Introduction
Rakshabandhan For Education is a non-government organization wishing and taking care of a handful of underprivileged students in West Bengal in India. The aim of Rakshabandhan is to facilitate the economically challenged students in getting education by providing them with scholarships. Rakshabandhan is strictly apolitical, areligious and non-discriminating.
Kharagpur Local Chapter is actively involved in giving service to the economically challenged, meritorious students by helping them with scholarship, free coaching, providing them with books and mentoring them. The free coaching had started from June 2010 and is believed to be best part of work now. Children who are simple, hard working and immensely motivated and devoted to make better results come from large distances (18-20 kms) by bicylces every week, stay with some boarders here and have direct interact with research scholars who do not hesitate to share some of their valuable time inspite of their busy research schedule. Approximately 12 students are a part of this coaching.
