Output

If Output's check box is selected, a desired output file name can be provided for saving search results. Whether you decide to save your results to a file or not, you have two other options related to the crawler's output:

  • Output to screen: The search results will be displayed in a Grid View control on-screen as they roll in. Cells can be selected using the mouse much like applications such as Excel. Right-clicking on a cell will bring up a context menu, allowing you to copy the contents of your selection or open the file in the currently selected cell.
  • Ignore errors: If you don't wish to be bothered by file permission or concurrent access errors (like crawling a live website, or crawling in a mixed-security environment), this box can be checked to suppress those errors. If this option is not selected, a Message Box will pop-up alerting the user of what has happened, and the crawler will be halted until the box is closed.

Output can be disabled altogether if you only wish to see how many search results there were. Beware, though, that once you close the Message Box that displays to notify you the crawler is finished, the results tally will disappear.
