Al-Qaeda had planned to attack Israel after 9/11

The CIA kept the al-Qaeda plot to attack Israel a secret for almost 20 years. In 2021, the previously classified information was cleared for publication.

“Al-Qaeda planned to carry out massive terrorist attacks on Israeli nightclubs in 2002 and was in the final stages of the plan, but was thwarted with the help of United States intelligence operatives, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation researcher has said.”

The details of the nightclub attacks plot had previously been blocked for publication by the Central Intelligence Agency and has only now been cleared for publication.”
