On June 24, the board voted to extend GISSV's lease and put the incremental increase into a fund for our neighborhood. This results in the Whisman campus being tied up until at least 2030, but it will generate $500K - $1M per year that can only be spent on a school in our neighborhood (presumably Slater).
Over the summer we met with the new superintendent, Dr. Rudolph to discuss the vision for a school in our neighborhood. He was receptive, giving feedback on the steps that would have to happen and timeline. The foundation work that will decide if a school can move forward is happening in Fall 2015, including one or more additional demographic studies to focus on the fast changes happening in the Mountain View population / demographics.
date: December 10th (More details to come)
Agenda: Make a decision on whether to open a Slater site. This will also be really important to attend, as we need to make it as hard as possible for them to say no to us. If you can only make it to one meeting, you probably went to the one on November 5th. However, we all know that you can make it to two. Come to this one too!
