I worked with my lab-mate to present Cognitive Neuroscience research to visitors of all ages at the Scarsdale STEAM day event. We walked participants through the work in our laboratory and an on-site demo of EEG recordings using a Backyard Brains Heart & Brain Spikerbox.

I was invited to give an introduction to statistical reasoning and the application of statistical tools to humanities data by the Fordham Graduate Student Digital Humanities Group as part of their lecture series encouraging students to incorporate digital tools in their scholarship. I worked in a team of four teaching assistants to facilitate the learning experience of approximately 30 researchers taking the Introductory Coding workshop. Our team answered questions from learners with different skill levels and assisted instructors to ensure that the lesson progressed smoothly.

As a head judge my role at the finals round of NYCSEF competition was to lead judge orientation for my team of four judges and to coordinate my team in the distribution and assessment of student projects. During the final caucus, I acted as moderator for the discussion and ensured that all paperwork and forms were collected and returned to the event organizers.

I presented my research as the inaugural speaker of the "Science in Your Neighborhood" series at the New York Public Library, Morris Park Branch. During this presentation I taught a non-academic audience the basics of auditory processing and introduced them to current research in my laboratory. A 30 minute Q&A session followed the presentation.

I participated in the Bronx Science Consortium poster session at the Bronx Zoo where I presented my research to a wide audience including members of the public, fellow graduate students, and educators.
Preliminary and Finals Judge, NYC Science and Engineering Fair

I evaluated student research projects as part the NYSEF competition. Judges are responsible for objectively evaluating students on creativity, innovation, scientific rigor, knowledge, and overall presentation skills. During the finals round, I worked with a team of judges to assess student presentations and come to a consensus on the group's choice for top three projects.

I volunteered time to copy edit an anthology of stories of notable women in science. I worked collaboratively with story authors and the lead editor via the Google Docs platform and the project was published as part of the celebration of Ada Lovelace Day.
