Renaissance & Reformation: Your teacher will provide a series of lessons on the following topics to help support your learning about European history between 1300 and 1700. In addition, you will also research the topics on your own to add to your understanding as well as create a project to show the factors leading to both the Renaissance and Reformation.

• The Catholic Church
• The Protestant Reformation
• The Arts

Renaissance Persons: This task involves the writing of two biographies where you specifically outline the characteristics of what it means to be a renaissance person or polymath. One essay is to be on an individual living between 1300 and 1700. The second biography is to be on a modern day person you find to exemplify the qualities of a renaissance person.

Action Plan: You will review your research focusing on what was in place for such a growth of creativity and new ideas during the Renaissance. You will write an action plan describing to President Obama what factors that need to be in place for a modern day renaissance in the United States.
