This website is a collaboration for a paper introducing confidence boxes for characterizing uncertainty in reliability analysis used to study reliability block diagrams and fault trees.
Please make additions and improvements to the code and the paper. To make a change or add text, just click on the pen icon above (on the right of the screen). When you're done, be sure to save your edits by clicking the blue Save button. To see previous versions and compare revisions, select Revision History from the More menu (on the right above). Create placeholders or pose questions in the text that should be expanded or resolved in the text by enclosing them in double angle brackets <<like this>>. More enduring or 'meta' commentary can be contributed to this collaboration as a comment at the bottom of any page. Use the Roman style of addressing and signing your comments, e.g, "<<Scott asks Mohamed: how will this work?>>" or "<<Scott asks: does anyone know about this?>>". Any text or material that is temporary, should be enclosed in double angle brackets, so it cannot slip by us in editing later. It is easy to include pictures, graphs and equations here. You can upload pictures in PNG, JPG, or TIF files using the Insert/Image menu option while you're editing. Slides in a PowerPoint presentation can be converted to these formats by using the Save As menu option. Mathematical equations can be inserted by creating an image with Texify and copying the image (not the code or URL link) into the text while editing. To get special characters you can copy é è ä ö ç à α γ β ε − × ± · • ® or symbols from the more complete HTML character table and paste into the text.
Please use this website, rather than sending emails or distributing files to each other directly or severally. This will better enable us to keep track of our discussions and progress. You can use the Files page to upload any files you want everyone to be able to access. Likewise, instead of (or at least in addition to) sending e-mails, you should post on the Say page anything you want to broadcast to all collaborators. This will allow us to maintain a record of our discussions. You can edit things you previously posted. You can also add comments and attach files to the bottom of any page. Don't feel that you have to post about every little thing. It's usually better if you go ahead and directly add new material to a page or make a change to a page, rather than merely talking about it. If something should be fixed, go ahead and fix it by editing the page directly. If appropriate, you can highlight the change in blue to indicate an uncontroversial change, or in red to indicate changes you want the collaborators to be sure to notice. Other colors, including background colors, may also be used.
You can also add entirely new pages to this site by clicking the new page icon (to the right of the pen icon above).
