Volunteer Opportunities

REEP volunteers support a variety of program components, including general ESL classes, workplace classes, outreach classes and computer language centers. Volunteers play an integral role in our program and enhance the quality of instruction that students receive. At any given time over 130 volunteers are involved in the REEP Program.

Teaching Assistant

Volunteers are needed to assist teachers at all of the sites and guidance is provided by REEP teachers. More...

ESL Teacher

Volunteers are needed to teach English at 3 Department of Human Services community outreach centers in Arlington. These free classes are held on a drop-in basis. Class schedules vary by site. Volunteer teachers use resources kept at sites and work under the guidance of REEP’s volunteer coordinator. More...

Sub for our volunteer ESL teachers at one of three community centers in Arlington in the morning or evening. More...

Help students achieve their career goals by assisting with resume writing, preparing for interviews, filling out job applications, and selecting a career path. More...

Literacy Tutor

Work with beginner students 1-on-1 or in small groups on basic reading and writing skills in our intensive program at the Syphax Education Center or Arlington Mill Community Center in the morning or evening.

Computer Lab Assistant

Volunteers are needed to help REEP students in the computer labs at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Syphax Education Center.

Office Assistant

Volunteers are needed to assist staff at the Syphax Education Center REEP office with various administrative duties including (but not limited to) filing, copying, organizing data, compiling information, special projects. REEP has also had volunteers assist in our testing and registration process, which typically happens on Monday mornings and evenings, as well as on the last day of the cycle.
