ESL Sites and Schedules

FREE OUTREACH ENGLISH CLASSES

Classes at these sites are ongoing beginning classes taught by volunteers. The classes are organized into two 6-month cycles — January - June and July - December. Testing is not required and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis for each class session.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH CLASSES (low cost tuition)

Beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of intensive English instruction are offered in 12-week cycles at Syphax Education Center, Arlington Mill Community Center, and Wakefield High School. Volunteers at these sites work as teacher's aides. Tuition is listed below for each program

Classes begin in January, March, July, and September:

Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Monday-Thursday 6:45 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Cost*: $285 morning/$200 evening for Arlington residents/workers (Non-Arlington residents pay $470 morning/$350 evening)

Transition scholarships ($35) are available to Outreach English Students.

(Some evening classes will be held at Wakefield High School, 1325 South Dinwiddie St. Arlington, VA 22204)

Cost*: $200 for Arlington residents/workers (Non-Arlington residents pay $350)

Transition scholarships ($35) are available to Outreach English Students.

* Tuition is subject to change, and includes a $35 non-refundable fee. Some scholarships are available to qualified applicants. Payment by money order or U.S. issued credit/debit cards only. No cash or personal checks accepted.

Registration must be in person. No telephone or mail-in registrations can be accepted for these programs. A placement test is required for some programs. Call (703) 228-4200 for testing dates and locations.
