Red Kite Radio is a 'shared platform' providing information about the activities of the Phoenix and Aries Amateur Radio Clubs
"Tempus Fugit" - Time Flies

Aries and Phoenix ARCs share many activities, including celebrations or commemorations of the passing seasons, largely based on traditional festivals.  Most of these are activities led by Kevin MoXLT using the Aries callsign MX0YHA from Gargrave near Skipton in North Yorkshire. Radio propagation limits the bands that can be used and hence the radio station's coverage and days and times of operation.

Each activity has its own high resolution 1800x1200px downloadable EeZee QSL (add your own details). Click on the image to open it full size prior to downloading or right click and 'save as . . .'

Beltane was the ancient festival which coincided with May Day.
"Special bonfires were kindled, and their flames, smoke and ashes were deemed to have protective powers. The people and their cattle would walk around or between bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers. All household fires would be doused and then re-lit from the Beltane bonfire."
(Wikipedia).

Similar festivals were celebrated across Europe.
