The Izaak Walton League was formed in 1922 to save outdoor America for future generations. The League's founders, who were avid anglers, named the organization after Izaak Walton, the 17th century author of The Compleat Angler, one of the most famous books on fishing. We are one of the earliest conservation organizations to set an aggressive course to defend wild America by changing public policy.
RED CEDAR CHAPTER
The Red Cedar chapter was founded in 1952 and for more than half a century, has been devoted to the protection and restoration of our natural resources to ensure our soil, air, woods, water and wildlife will be available for future generations. An active part of our area, we offer opportunities regarding conservation, energy, wildlife, outdoor ethics, shooting sports, river clean-up, trail care and creation, and facilities and opportunities for Boy Scouts and other youth groups.
We encourage our members to enjoy our chapter grounds we offer. This includes our two regulation trap ranges, 100, 50 and 25yd rifle/handgun ranges and our archery range. We also have a Day Bird Sanctuary, Eels Prairie, and the Tobin Trees of Iowa. Please follow the links below for more information.
