I have been creating rider dolls in 1/9 (standard Traditional) scale since 2000.
I have historically used the Mego/small Marx "Sitting Bull" or "Cochise" figure for male riders and Mego's "Dorothy" for female riders. Currently I prefer the "Lenna" female doll by KC's Galloping Gals and KC's 1/9 male doll. Dolls are haired with natural mohair or with viscose, depending on style desired, and fully dressed in beaded leather or fabric in a style appropriate to the chosen tribe, gender and time period. Facial paint and/or tattooing can be added and will be researched and documented for appropriateness to tribe and gender of doll.
I will be glad to coordinate your doll to your horse's regalia, whether you are buying a horse costume from me, or want to match a set you already have. Every doll I have made is unique!
Women's basic clothing: Dress, leggings, moccasins (leggings and mocs made into a combined "boot"), undergarment, belt with pouch and sheathed knife, appropriate jewelry and hair accessories.
Men's basic clothing: Shirt, loincloth, leggings, mocs, belt with pouch and sheathed knife, appropriate jewelry and hair accessories. Weapons and other gear as appropriate.
Price: $250/300 for doll alone depending on complexity, $200 if ordered with a horse costume.
Extras: The sky is the limit, so please send me any ideas, photos, artwork you like, and we can discuss "bringing them to life" for you!
Also! I don't only do Native dolls! I have done Bedouin men and women, Irish and Roman British characters, and even a portrait doll of the Mother of Dragons herself =) Do you have an idea? we can discuss!
