What I do: I consider myself a "historical re-enactor" creator, focusing on the Great Plains and Plateau tribes during the period from c.1750 to the early 1900s. Every piece I create is carefully researched to represent the tribe, time frame and details that we settle on for your design, and I supply documentation. I am not of Native American/American Indian heritage, but I do my very best to treat their arts respectfully and appropriately.
I do not create "powwow style" or modern, heavily ornamented show costumes. I believe the beauty of period design speaks for itself.
Scheduling and Work Process: A full set takes me 6-8 weeks to complete. I'll tell you which slot is yours at the time we settle your booking and again when I begin your work. If you want your set in hand for a specific show, please give me the date as soon as you know it so that I'm aware of your deadline.
At this time my book is open for limited dates in 2024.
I much prefer to work closely with you and discuss all details of your set beforehand and/or during its creation, so please let me know whether you prefer private messaging or e-mail. I will send messages (i.e. "talk your ear off"), usually with progress photos, periodically throughout the work period for your feedback. If you want me to work from an illustration or photo, I will do my best. If you have an idea what theme or color you prefer but no exact design in mind, we can work that out.
My tack is adjustable, but I still need full measurements of your horse if I don't own the Breyer or resin you want your set to fit, especially if the horse is customized/remade.
I request at least 1/3 - 1/2 if possible - of your total payment at the time I begin your work and the balance before I ship. However, this is negotiable, so please ask if you'd like a custom payment plan. Preferred method of payment is PayPal.
Please Note: I use all natural materials in my costumes including genuine leather, feathers, fur, herbs and crystals. All work is done in my smoke-free but cat-friendly home. I will take all possible care to deliver your set to you in an immaculate state but I cannot guarantee it will be 100% free of cat hair. (However, I have never had anyone tell me that they had an allergic reaction to my work. =) ) ==Also, the medicine bag a horse carries can be customized for appropriateness to its name or other factors important to you, if you wish. Just ask.

Special notes on mini regalia: The tiny beads I use for these are very scarce and not available in all colors. We can work something out in discussion but please be prepared to be flexible.
For any scale, extra charges will apply if your design requires me to buy types of leather or beads, or other items, that I don't already have on hand--but they will extend only to the price of the item plus ordering costs (postage etc.).
Cost of fancies and extras: added individually. Available in smaller scales: let's discuss!
