Bridges serve as wonderful metaphors for the process of psychotherapy.
At times, the clouds descend low reducing or blocking visibility; persevere and the sun will burn them away.
Bridges make concrete oft forgotten client attributes like strength, endurance, resilience, stability, and the ability to "weather" storms.
They provide a path, although not direct, toward desired outcomes and clarify the client's position vis-à-vis change.
Bridges convey the rapport between clinician and client and cast the therapist in a role that facilitates the client's connecting points near and far, imagined and unimagined.

Welcome to my professional practice web site. This web site is primarily designed for individuals who are considering psychotherapy. An excellent place to begin is by using Dr. Zur’s Checklist for Choosing a Therapist; I think you will find it helpful whatever your final decision about seeing me. I would recommend starting here even if you already have experience with psychotherapy since the checklist will assist you in determining whether a therapist is competent to address you concerns. My Professional Disclosure Statement provides specifics on my background as a therapist including a synopsis of my training and professional experience. It also brings us up to the present by describing the clients that I serve, the types of treatment provided, my fees and record keeping practices. The Theoretical Frameworks link provides additional information on my approach to treatment. The Confidentiality and Privacy link provides information on how I protect your privacy and confidentiality and my legal obligations regarding your health information. Use the Information on Mental Health link to obtain information to assist you in determining whether you need psychotherapy. Of course you should also feel free to call me directly at my office with your questions or for any other reason: (314) 561-2958. You may also email me at: scott.raymond794@gmail.com.
