"It was sort of like a family educational experience all at once. He likes getting 4-5 books in his own bag that belonged to just him that comes from his teacher."

"It's a great chance to sit with the kids and where you have the dedicated time: them listening to you and you dedicating time to them."

Jumpstart teacher and program implementer Stephanie Flade described a September morning:
“'It was just a great day.
The children kept asking 'do we get the books today?’ all last week and even today as they entered, so it was fantastic to finally distribute the bags and let them dive in! They could not wait to tell their parents that they had to sit down together to watch the video and then read the books tonight.”
Parents and the children are invited to quarterly RAR evenings for the children to play and for their parents to learn more about interactive reading techniques.
