Ni Hao! myself Ranjan Das. I received my Bachelor of Engineering degree from Jadavpur University (JU) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in 2007. I obtained my PG diploma in Nuclear engineering in 2008 from Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Then I joined NPCIL as a scientific officer to gain some industry experiences. After working five years at different technical levels, again I came back to academia to follow my passion. In 2013, I joined Electrical Engineering department at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) to complete my Masters in Electronic Systems design. I have defended my PhD defense from IIT Bombay under guidance of Prof. Qingfeng Zhang. Electromagnetics always wonder me and I want to explore it further for benefits of humankind. I worked on Microwave photonics and Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) components design for satellite transponder during my PhD. Presently, I am working on integrated Silicon Photonics for high-speed wireline communication, LIDAR, silicon photonics for sub-THz wireless communication system, microwave photonics, Radio-over-Fiber and all-optical signal processing applications.
I am actively involved in many professional societies and a member of IEEE and also serves as a regular reviewer of many IEEE journals. I would like to do collaborative works because I believe that sharing ideas or knowledge is an efficient and fastest way of learning and improving one's knowledge. Of course, I'm an independent thinker and would like see myself surrounded by new challenges. I have strong command in Matlab and conventional softwares like CST, ADS, Cadence etc. and capable of learning others too. I am looking to carry forward my future research directions in mmwave and THz frequencies starting from signal generation, signal processing to detection all the way towards Photonic Signal Processor. Reading all types of books is my hobby and I would like to play cricket and table tennis.
