Well, the day sort of started like an old country, it was dark, it was cool, and it was spitting rain. That continued for a good part of the first half of the day. Then the wind came, then the sun tried to peak out, and it ended with a drastic temperature change when you stepped off the boat and on to dry land. Here’s how out it all shook out.

Not everything is what meets the eye! Even though one would think it’s primarily a shallow lake as you drive around, the deep bite is what held the big girls! Billy and Levi spent the day grinding the same “deep” (10-12’) weedline to pull away with first place by a landslide. Their total bag for six fish weighed in at 20.26 pounds, including their 4.34 pound lunker. I’d say that’s a pretty good average!

To be completely opposite, but still successful, were Larry and Jen, thrashing on the shallow structure all day long. It was a game of culling mere ounces, but catching plenty of fish helped them to cull their way to second place. Larry catching the big bass of the tournament, weighing 4.41 pounds, certainly helped to seal deal! Jen was able to pay him back by catching his rod in the lake before a fish swam off with it! A ways behind first, but a comfortable gap ahead of third, they weighed in a total of 17.72 pounds.

Edging out the competition, for the last of plaque places, were Jonesy and Ashten. They tended to mix it up a bit more, moving shallow and back deep again, over and over as the day went on. They even had some musky excitement when Ashten caught a nice one on a whopper plopper to have it break him off before they could land it. Edging out Chuck and Emmet by just 0.09 pounds, they weighed a total of 15.92 pounds!
