Emmet Rules the River, 7/26/2025
With another good turnout of Range Bassmasters, Emmet exhibited his froggin’ skills in river backwaters made easier to access due to high water and offering bass clearer habitat in vegetation from the murky river. Meanwhile the finicky old Little Rabbit was quite stingy and Rice Lake off-color as well, with less vegetation as a result. Emmet sacked up 15-0 to win by almost two pounds. With partner Ashten, they took the Team Prize as well. Smitty continued his success with a second-place catch of 13-3 that included the 4-9 lunker, one of six 4-pounders caught. Brian Tonn took 3rd with 12-8, also caught on frogs. Larry, Ashten, and Brian S. finished out the Top 6. Brian had the only smallies, caught farther upriver. Quite a few folks struggled, as the bite in many areas was tough.
The next tournament will be on Aug. 10, Sunday, at Cedar Lake near Aitkin. Partner Draw on Weds the week before at the Elk’s, 6 pm.
Honorable Mention:
Smitty's Crawtube Crappie!
