Emmet Wins Whitefish, 9/27/2025; Grabs AOY
On a cool and breezy fall day, club members launched out of the newly
renovated ramp on Lower Hay. While the deep bite was very spotty,
remaining docks provided the best targets, though a large number had
already been pulled. Emmet criss-crossed the lake to haul in 19-12, by far
the biggest bag of the year, including the 5-0 lunker. The win pushed him a
single point ahead of Arnie, who gave it a good effort with a third-place
showing on Saturday with 15-12. Both those veterans won a pair of
tournaments this season as they battled it out all year long.
Zoey ended up on a high note with a second-place catch of 16-2, including
a 4-10 bass, one of more than 10 bass over 4 pounds caught from
Whitefish, which produced good catches despite some challenging
conditions, including wind, dwindling vegetation, and water temperatures
that have hovered in the upper 60s for over three weeks, unlike they typical
fall situation. Al the top 6 anglers topped 15 pounds. The rest of the day’s
top 6 places went to Brian Smude (15-4), Billy (15-4), and Bryan Jones
(15-0). For the year, the top 6 anglers were: Emmet, Arnie, Brian S., Smitty,
Billy, and Bryan J.
Next up is the infamous Clash, which is scheduled for 10/12, a Sunday, at
Essquagamah Lake near Aitken. Brainerd Lks. Club is in charge, using a
team format. Contact TD Arnie or Pres. Billy for details.
Honorable Mention:
Smitty's Crawtube Crappie!
