Why the “My Why Pages,” When I was a young lad I was constantly bombarded with different doctrines and constantly pressed to defend my beliefs. When I first became a Born again Christian one of my teachers told me a great and profound truth. He said, “the power is in the word, so when someone tries to pervert (twist out of context) scripture then go back and look at the context because the power is in the word; let it tell you what it means and not what someone wants it to mean.” Good advice after almost thirty years I have not forgotten it. Therefore, when I was asked a question I would study every aspect of a particular subject and then write a treatise. I knew if it made sense to me, then I could explain it to others. Many of My Why Pages are these original Treatises.
The Bible teaches us to study and be ready to give an answer. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. (KJV)
The bible tells us to study and rightly understand (within context) his teachings. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJV)
Not only are we to rightly discern the word of God, be ready to give an answer, but also the scriptures keep us standardized doctrine enabling us not to be easily deceived by a slick talking wolf in sheep’s clothing. Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. (KJV)
Now you know Why the “My Why Pages” exist. I hope they are a blessing to you.
Have a Blessed Day
