We Need Your Input for the 2015 Community Capital Improvement Projects (CIP)

Post date: Jul 25, 2013 1:51:31 AM

On behalf of the City of San Diego, the Rancho Peñasquitos Planning Board (RPPB), which includes Black Mountain Ranch, Torrey Highlands and Rancho de los Peñasquitos, is soliciting community input for improvements to public property within our location of the City. This unique opportunity seeks to integrate public input as part of developing the annual Capital Improvement Programs budget specifically to gain citizen suggestions before staff prepares the draft budget.

The RPPB, as one of 42 Planning Boards within the City, will be providing priority projects within our boundary which will be evaluated for improvements within the next fiscal year of 2015. (July 1 to June 30). Many of these projects to be implemented have been previously identified in our Public Facilities Financing Plan or the City’s scheduled Capital Improvement Program.

YOU are encouraged to provide additional project requests as outlined in the survey provided below.

Please provide additional project for improvements to City assets based on the following categories:

• Buildings Facilities

• Storm Drainage Facilities

• Transportation Facilities

In 2012, the RPPB CIP sub-committee identified 6 projects as the most likely to be implemented.

They were:

  1. Rancho Peñasquitos Library Roof Replacement

  2. Rancho Peñasquitos Library HVAC replacement and upgrade

  3. Electronic Speed Monitoring Signs (V-calm Signs) @ Calle de los Rosas, or other locations

  4. Traffic Calming measures for a lighted cross walk for the school on Oviedo Street

  5. Torrey Highlands Neighborhood Park

  6. Del Sur Neighborhood Park North

One of the successful outcomes from last year's community input was to advance the design for the development of the Torrey Highlands Neighborhood Park. This demonstrates your input in this process can make a difference.
