Dr. A. S. Rana is an experimental physicist interested in the research on quantum nanoelectronics and ultra-low power neuromorphic electronics for AI hardware and sensors. He loves teaching physics and also enjoy reading, watching and discussing about socio-economics and spirituality.
Dr. Rana did his PhD in Physics from University of Pune in year 2012, while working at National Chemical Laboratory, India with Prof. Satishchandra Ogale. His PhD research was mainly focused on studying quantum tunneling and resistance switching properties in spintronic materials & devices. Thereafter, he moved for his postdoctoral research at National University of Singapore (2012-2014) with Prof Venky and subsequently at University of Twente (2015-2017) with Prof Hans Hilgenkamp in Netherlands. During postdoctoral research, he led projects on the growth of thin films and nanomaterials using physical vapor depositions, nano- and microfabrication of devices and their characterization.
During his career, he visited some of the top institutes in USA, Australia, Singapore, China, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland for different scientific assignments and conferences.
