TEXT: Open Up (8 Topics + 1 Cumulative Review)

Google Classroom: For all assignments, directions, and due dates. Assignments are not turned in to GC unless the post calls for it. Grades are not posted to GC unless an assignment is "Turned in" to GC.

Delta Math: Practice and Assessments

Objectives: The student is expected to learn all topics covered in the course content. The student is also expected to act responsibly regarding attendance, punctuality, participation, class preparation, effort, and courtesy. A cumulative exam is given the last week of May.

Supplies: Students are required to bring the following items to class each day:

Charged Chromebook

Text

Spiral notebook (Notes and Vocab)

Pencils (and sharpener if not using mechanical:)

Ink pen for correcting (blue, black, or red)

Black or blue whiteboard marker

Sock/ eraser

Calculator

Grading: Grades will be determined using the following weighted percentages:

· Tests / Projects 70%

· Quizzes (announced and unannounced) 10%

· Vocabulary, Notebook Checks 20%

Tests: All tests will be announced in advance. In general, tests are given about every other week.

Quizzes: I will give a quiz during a week when there is not a test. Notebooks are allowed for quizzes. Students who earn a quiz scores below 80% may retake it within a week for up to 79%.

Notebook Checks: Notebook Check questions are either from class notes or "boxed" whiteboard problems. If a student does not pass a notebook check, they may get their notebook rechecked for up to 79%

Assignments: Students are provided answers to most assignments(at the very least the odds:) in order for them to be able to check their independent practice as they go.

General Grading Rubric

0 = Nothing to Score / Illegible (Turn in w/in the week for up to 78%)

6 = Little understanding (Redo* for up to 79%)

7.5 = Basic Understanding (Redo for up to 79%)*

8.5 = Proficient (Independent with few errors)

9 = Advanced (Able to confidently help others)

10 = Mastery (Able to teach someone else from beginning to end or create a product:)

***Redo's are due BEFORE the Chapter Test and Redo grades are posted on the spot.***

Conduct: In general, follow the "Golden Rule": Be Polite. Be Prepared. Be Productive.

Absences: Check Google Classroom. Students have one week to complete absent work.
