nocturnal digressions

coming up shortly ;-)

For now, I engage you in a few interesting blogs, comics and youtube channels I enjoy and follow .

The blog post by Ross H. McKenzie: Condensed Concepts, where he discusses some of the recent developments in condensed matter physics and a variety of research related issues in science.

I enjoy a few comics -- the most notable being Calvin & Hobbes and recently the PhD Comics (links below)

Some of the youtube channels on science topics and visualization based maths/science is highly recommended. It is nearly impossible to provide separate links to each of the videos I found interesting --- I especially recommend the youtube channels Veritasium and 3 Blue 1 Brown and thank them for awesome videos.

Supervisor-student relationship

While this is a subjective matter and depends a lot on the cultural backgrounds, efficiency of communication channels (read language barriers), and the individual personalities, I believe that clearly expressing and agreeing upon certain rules of engagement is a step in the right direction.

A few agreeable ideas and discussions . . .

Interesting lecture notes and courses

:-( [to be added soon]
