I am a lecturer (Akademischer Rat) at the Institut für Linguistik/Romanistik at the University of Stuttgart. My field of research is historical Romance linguistics with a focus on the history of French, and more specifically the interaction between prosodic change and changes in morpho-syntax. Recently I've also worked on the development of spatial prepositions and motion encoding in medieval French. I work frequently with historical corpora, and have developed corpora with both syntactic and metrical annotation layers. I have previously worked at the University of Oxford as a British Academy Post-Doctoral Fellow, and at the University of Lyon with the BFM team, principally on the SRCMF (Syntactic Reference Corpus of Medieval French) project.
