Daily Activities

Curriculum

The overall curriculum is designed to meet the individual child's growth and development. The director and teachers work cooperatively with the parents to assess each child's level of development, interests, and to work on individual goals based on this assessment. We are currently using Creative Curriculum and the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (for infants through preschool).

Teachers use hands-on activities, when possible. Teachers will provide activities in the areas of art, music, children's literature, concept development, large and small motor skills, dramatic play, listening skills, nature, science, cooking, and more.

As each child uses various materials and interacts with other children, the teachers observe and encourage social skills. Teacher guidance and help are provided as needed to extend the learning and enhance the enjoyment of each activity.

Activities

Our daily activities include art time, playing outside, going for walks, reading books together, and dancing to music. Our goal everyday is to have FUN and learn by exploring the world around us and to be nice to our friends.

Daily centers include Blocks, Dramatic Play, Manipulatives, Art, Music, Science, Writing, Book Area, and Water or Sand Play.

We are also assessing each child in preparation for creating individual learning plans.

Weather permitting, we take our activities outside and enjoy the fresh air!

We support the activities and skills at the elementary school for each grade level. During the summer months, we reinforce the skills the students worked on during the school year and introduce concepts they will be working on in the upcoming school year.

The students are currently practicing acts of kindness and making good choices.
