I'm a materials scientist in the Materials Science Division at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where I lead the Quantum Simulations Group of about 30 Ph.D. researchers. Our mission is to integrate quantum simulation methods with data science and high-performance computing to validate, understand, and predict the properties and performance of materials.
My passion lies in harnessing quantum mechanics, AI/ML and large-scale computing to advance materials discovery. My research focuses on functional materials for energy conversion and storage, materials degradation, and water science.
I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from UC Davis, a Diploma in Condensed Matter Physics from the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), and a B.S in Physics from Hanoi National University of Education.
