Real Organic Food

Introduction

The USDA certified Organic label is mostly a success. However, changing technology and times are creating a need for change to this labeling. A growing number of large farms are profiting off loopholes and reinterpretations of the USDA organic rules to sell produce that doesn't conform to the original spirit or intent of the organic label. In order to address these issues, a coalition of small farmers called Real Organic Project is organizing to create amendments and "add on" labels to the USDA organic label.
