Professional Background
Associate Research Fellow, Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, ROC (since 2012)
Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biochemical Technology, National Taiwan University (since 2004)
Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University (2001 to 2003)
Educational Background
Ph.D. in Biophysics, Stanford University (2001)
M.S. in Biophysics, University of California Berkeley (1993)
B.S. in Biophysics, National Taiwan University (1989)
Research Interest
His main focus includes the elucidation of the structure and function of biological macromolecules in yeast and human cells, especially those molecules governing the transfer of genetic information, such as RNA polymerase I, II, III, DNA repair enzymes, splicing particles, and various kinds of infectious viruses such as influenza and EV71
He is developing chemical methods to label these macromolecules in vitro and in vivo with the aim to image them with single-molecule microscopy, such as FRET, PALM, and cryo-electron microscopy.
