Cell Biology is a universal discipline that can be applied anywhere in the world, whether within a single country, a specific scientific community, or a particular research area. In celebrating the 9th International and 17th Annual National Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society for Cell Biology (PSCB), "Cells Without Borders" represents a current scientific fact as well as a goal for our members to help find solutions to the world’s largest problems. Whether it be finding ways to adapt agriculture to a changing climate, developing new treatments for infectious diseases, finding ways to regenerate damaged tissues, or identifying sustainable ecosystems, the answers to these questions start with understanding what happens at the cellular level.

Whether it be finding ways to adapt agriculture to a changing climate, developing new treatments for infectious diseases, finding ways to regenerate damaged tissues, or identifying sustainable ecosystems, the answers to these questions start with understanding what happens at the cellular level.
The theme of this meeting recognizes the relationship between science, health, and sustainability at the cellular level and supports the One Health initiative, which states that human, animal, and environmental health are interconnected by the same biological systems. The theme also promotes interdisciplinary work and recognizes that the biggest breakthroughs will occur when the sciences of genomics, medicine, ecology, technology, and public policy come together. We extend an invitation to collaborate in dismantling the barriers that exist between disciplines, institutions, and nations, while celebrating the universal nature of scientific inquiry.
