PSA-Bonn stands for Pakistan Student Association-Bonn. Like any other students' organization, the main objective of PSA-Bonn is supporting existing students, helping new comers in settling down, promoting social activities and enhancing intercultural communication. PSA-Bonn was established in (2006) by __. Initially the association there were few members but with the passage of time and increase in the number of students coming to NRW region, PSA-Bonn has extended its activities. Current PSA-Bonn has almost 50 active members belonging to University of Bonn, University of Cologne and Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.
PSA-Bonn is an active students association with a constitution and well define organizational body structure. The association is run under the chair of a president and a cabinet. The president and the cabinet are selected by the active members of PSA-Bonn through voting each year. The cabinet consists of a general coordinator, general secretary and finance secretary. The president, with the recommendations of cabinet members, decides coordinators for different activities like sports activities, recreational activities, events management, intercultural communication activities and so on.
Different social events are organized regularly by PSA-Bonn. It include evening parties, recreational trips, weekly sports activities (football, cricket etc) etc. Such parties are often attended by students from different cultural backgrounds belonging to different countries. This helps understanding different cultures.
Main objectives of PSA-Bonn are as follows:
To help new students in their admissions and initial settlement. The initial settlement includes receiving new students, initial accommodation, city registration, university enrollment, health insurance and opening the bank account.
To promote and increase friendly and cordial relations between Pakistani, German, and other international students in Bonn. To communicate the difficulties and problems of Pakistani Students to the international office(s).
To arrange events and excursions for Pakistani Students.
To promote knowledge exchange between Pakistan and Germany through seminars, blogs, presentations and other activities in the two countries.
