About Mr. Sutton

Nate Sutton is back for his fifteenth year at M.A.T., and is excited at the opportunity to continue to improve this great music program. This is his twenty-sixth year of teaching: Nate has taught middle school, high school and university students in a variety of settings, and is dedicated to music and arts education for EVERY student. He believes in the power of music to change a brain, a heart, and a life, and knows that thoughtful practice and hard work are more valuable than "talent" any day!

He is also a professional musician, playing trombone with a variety of bands around NYC, including Brother Joscephus & The Love Revolution, The Tickled Pinks, The Steven Oquendo Latin Jazz Orchestra, The Stan Rubin Orchestra and Stan Rubin's Tigertown Five, Orqesta Sangria Nueva, Mary Edwards, and he subs with several other groups.

A few of the other artists Nate has performed with: The Temptations, The Four Tops, Martha & the Vandellas, The Beach Boys, Harry Connick, Jr., David Sánchez, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Tito Puente Jr., Doyle Bramhall II, the Henry Mancini Orchestra, Burt Bacharach, Victor Lewis...

Nate brings his professional experience and musicianship into the classroom to provide unique and authentic music education to his students.
