APS Instructional Practices

In an effort to ensure that there is a consistent set of Instructional Practices implemented across the school and district, the Atlanta Public Schools has rolled out, and Kimberly has adopted, the following Instructional Practices that must be evident in every instructional environment in our building:

• Practice 1 - Performance Based Objectives
• Practice 2 - Academic Vocabulary
• Practice 3 - Gradual Release of Responsibility
• Practice 4 - (ELA) - Balance of Informational & Literary Text / (MTH) - Use of Manipulatives and Implementation of CRA Model

*Practices 5 - 8 included below. The above are those that are easily observable during a classroom observation.
