PrintAble server will not install or run

    • Make sure you have .NET Framework version 4 installed. A free download is available here. (This comes preinstalled with Windows 7/8)

    • There is currently an issue running the PrintAble server on Windows XP. This is expected to be resolved in the next version.

The client is crashing

    • If you are experiencing crashes when you try to run the PrintAble client, first make sure you are running the latest version of the PrintAble client (download it from the Windows Phone Store)

    • If you have recently upgraded from a previous version, try uninstalling PrintAble and reinstalling it.

    • Please email us with details so we can help.

The client can't connect to the server

    • Make sure the server is running.

    • For best performance, make sure your phone is on the same network as the host PC that is running the PrintAble server.

    • If you are running Windows Firewall on Windows 7/8, PrintAble server should set up the firewall rules automatically, but you can check this. The default port is 8018.

    • If you are running a different firewall (eg. BitDefender), you may need to manually open a port for PrintAble. Make sure the PrintAbleServer app has access to incoming TCP connections on the port specified in the server application.

    • If you're running on a corporate network or through a gateway/router, you might have other firewalls between your phone and the PC the server is running on. Check with your system administrator.

    • Try running PrintAble server as an administrator.

    • Temporarily disable any firewall to see if that resolves the issue. If so, then you will need to change your firewall settings to give PrintAble access.

My printer is not showing as online/offline correctly

    • If the printer status information is not correct, this is likely because Windows or the printer are incorrectly reporting the printer status. You could try updating your printer driver.
