Pretzel Haus was established in 2012 when family man Uwe Hambrecht grew a desire to find the perfect pretzel recipe which he missed so dearly from his hometown in Schwabisch Hall, Germany. Over the course of many trips to Germany, he visited local bakeries and talked to established bakers about their ingredients and techniques, all the while taste-testing pretzels.
Hambrecht has been perfecting his recipe for over 10 years and finally the authentic German pretzel was reborn in Connecticut.
Each pretzel is hand rolled, twisted, and baked to perfection. More than 1,000 people have enjoyed Hambrecht's pretzels, including those who attended the three day festival called the German Hartford Saengerbund in Newington, CT.
