Here is a link about a simple gardening method, in which one does not have to worry much about soil pH, or watering, or tilling the soil, or soil nutrients, or bug pests, or weeding. The video is about an hour and 40 minutes long. The basic idea is to cover the soil with some kind of a mulch, leave the mulch on top, and not work it under the soil at the end of the season. Instead if necessary you can put more mulch on top the next year. The mulch retains water, adds nutrients as it decomposes, holds back weeds, helps to soften the soil, et cetera. The film suggests wood chips (of varying sizes, such as come out of a chipper) as the best mulch, but says that leaves, grass clippings, or even rocks can work. It may be necessary to fertilize the first year until the mulch begins to decompose. It may take a while to download the video, but it's faster if you turn off the High Definition feature.
