Objective

The Planning and Policy Research Unit (PPRU) is a research centre within the Indian Statistical Institute (Delhi). Set up by the Planning Commission of India, the main objective of PPRU is to promote empirical research on India. It does so by

• Financially supporting cutting edge research on India, conducted by faculty members affiliated to the Economics and Planning Unit.

• Providing affiliated researchers access to databases on the Indian economy

• Providing GIS support to affiliated researchers

• Organising conferences and workshops

• Facilitating visits by distinguished economists
