Mouthpieces

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Some Conn mouthpieces have certain characteristics which can put them in a certain timeframe.

Engraving on outside of rim - ca. early 1970s [CCM era] - According to reports that these unique mouthpieces with the rim outside engraved [not the space between the number stamp and the rim] came with Connstellation/other outfits in the 1970s, we can assume that these mouthpieces with stamped/engraved rims are from the early-to-mid 1970s [although this has yet to be confirmed]

Mid-size letters, stylized CONN logo - 1970s-early 1980s [CCM & Henkin eras] - sharper shank ridges [see bottom of page]

Large-size letters, stylized CONN logo - 1980s-early 1990s [UMI era] - sharper shank ridges [see bottom of page]

Small-size letters, non-stylized Conn stamp - 1980s [early UMI era] - sharper shank ridges [see bottom of page]

Large-size letters, non-stylized Conn lettering - 1990s-2000s [UMI & early Conn-Selmer eras] - note that the ridges near the shank are cut smaller and rounder than the other Conns - more like Lausmann German stencil-mouthpieces or Bach mouthpieces
